First-Class Private Railcar Travel for the 21st Century

Which Amtrak trains can Private Railcars be attached to?

For the most part, there are few trains that Private Railcars can not be attached to; however, there are some operations issues that may restrict our access.  For instance, there are a small number of trains that can be utilized on the Northeast Corridor.  This is simply due to the fact that these trains exceed the maximum authorized speed for a Private Railcar.  The Hickory Creek, and others of similar design are restricted to 110MPH maximum operating speed.  As a result, the following trains can generally accommodate Private Railcars on the NEC between New York and Washington, or points south (subject to railroad approval):

Most, if not all, Empire Service trains can have Private Railcars added to the consist.  Whether you seek a roundtrip between New York City and Albany, or points beyond, this route offers some of the finest scenery in the Northeast.     Important:  while connection times between arriving and departing trains may be adequate for passengers, this does not always allow ample time to complete the necessary tasks associated with switching out a private railcar.  Please contact your Charter Agent to discuss available options.
