First-Class Private Railcar Travel for the 21st Century

Capacity

The capacity of the Hickory Creek depends on how the car is intended to be used.  This can be generally classified into two different categories: daytime or overnight travel.  See a floor plan of the car.

Daytime Travel - Light Meal Service

When using the car for this purpose, the maximum capacity is 24 guests.  In order to accommodate this number of guests, every available seating position is utilized.  As the car is intended to be used as a lounge, there is simply not enough space to provide sit down dining for all guests.  As a result, food service is limited to hors d' oeuvres and cocktail service.

Daytime Travel - Full Meal Service

For daytime trips that provide at least two and one half hours of running time, first class full meal service can be provided for up to 14 guests.  This provides ample time to have two comfortable seatings of 7 guests.  However, for larger groups the Hickory Creek is often coupled with Dining Car Epicurus, enabling you to dine with a party of 36.

Overnight Travel

For overnight travelers, the Hickory Creek accommodates 8 * guests.  The car is configured with two traditional Pullman style double bedrooms; sleeping 2 guests each and two master bedrooms; sleeping 2 guests each.  Each master bedroom has a full sized bed and an attach shower/toilet annex.  The double bedrooms share an en suite toilet/shower annex.

* Depending on the itinerary selected, it may be necessary to reserve double-bedroom C for the Hickory Creek crew, therefore rendering bedrooms A, B, and D for client occupancy.  Every situation is different and should be discussed with your charter agent during the planning process.  For charters which require additional bedroom space, the Hickory Creek can be coupled with a sleeper car.
